Imperial Moth
Family Saturniidae
Eacles imperialis

When I left work and walked to my car one evening, I saw this big bright yellow moth lying on the ramp in the parking garage. Not a good place for moths! So I moved him, but he fluttered back. I picked him up again, and this time decided to bring him back into the office so I could get this photo of him. I then brought him out behind the parking garage and put him in the trees.

The next morning on my way from the car to the office, who should I see lying in about the same spot on the driveway but my moth. Perhaps he was trying to end it all, but I interfered again and tossed him off the back of the garage.
